This is a tricky question to answer. A lot of factors will go into your decision to stay together or not. But the good news is that you are not alone. There are many people out there who have been married for 50 years, and they can give you advice on how to make it work.
If you want to know if you will make it, then the best way to find out is by asking for advice from others who have made it this far in their marriage. They will be able to tell you what they believe helped them get through all these years and what challenges they faced along the way.
Anniversaries are such a marriage milestone, it makes me wonder if my husband and I will make it to our 50th anniversary.
Let’s do the math a minute. I am from the era where college education and career came first, so consequently we were married in our early 30’s. To make it to a Golden Wedding Anniversary, we would have to at least live to be 80 years old. With modern medicine, that is entirely possible!
Additionally, statistically speaking over half of all marriages are ending in divorce. So based on all of those facts, I say we have a 50/50 chance (God willing) to make it to our Golden Anniversary.
